Healing the Source – A Word for Today

“Then he went out to the source of the water, and cast in the salt there…” – 2 Kings 2:21

This passage is a powerful picture of spiritual renewal and restoration. The city looked pleasant from the outside—but something was wrong at the source. The water was bad, and the ground was unfruitful. Just like many lives today—presentable on the surface, but suffering deep within.

Elisha didn’t apply a superficial fix. He went to the root of the issue—the source—and applied something consecrated (a new bowl with salt), declaring healing in the name of the Lord. And the result? No more death. No more barrenness. Healing that endures to this day.

This is what God desires to do in us: to go deep, to the source of our pain, trauma, stagnation, or spiritual dryness—and heal us from the inside out.
